Andrew is new Bishop in Ethiopia

REVD Canon Andrew Proud, a former member of St James' Church, Colchester who served his title
post in the parish of Stansted Mountfitchet, has been consecrated as Bishop for the Horn of Africa.

Andrew, who was ordained in Chelmsford cathedral in 1980, and his wife Janice went to serve in
Ethiopia and under their leadership the work of the Anglican Church has expanded in many ways.

Such has been the growth in the Church that it became necessary to consecrate another bishop to
look after Anglicans in Ethiopia and in the other countries in the Horn of Africa. Andrew said:
"Please pray for Janice and I as we prepare for and move into this new phase of our lives and ministry. We both feel overwhelmed, inadequate and excited at the same time."
