2008 brings new start for youth

Kids in the parkA celebration event and a new course for youth leaders plus an exploration for young people are among the good things in store for 2008.

A Celebration of Youth Ministry in Chelmsford Diocese - Friday 11 January, 8pm

Whether you’re a long-standing youth leader or new on the block; whether your youth group is large or small, or you just fancy a great night out, ‘A Celebration of Youth Ministry in Chelmsford Diocese’ is for you. Designed to celebrate all that God is doing amongst young people in the Diocese, a night to inspire, encourage and inform you in your youth work. Come along to the Shire Hall in Central Chelmsford on Friday 11 January for worship, stories, resources and the launch of a new Diocesan training programme for voluntary youth leaders called ‘equipping’, a 12 session training course in the key skills for youth ministry delivered over two years.

The worship will be led by The London Community Gospel Choir and the keynote speaker will be Dennis Pethers of Viz-a-Viz. Parking will be available at the Diocesan Office car park off Waterloo Lane and in the town centre car parks. The doors open at 7.15pm and the event will begin at 8.00pm. Admission will be free.

‘equpping’ –training for youth leaders

Each session of ‘equipping’ will be delivered in three different venues across the Diocese, on three different dates per half term, enabling you to choose what’s most convenient for you.

‘essential calling’ – 13-15 February, St Mark’s College, Audley End

If you are School Year 10 or above, you’re invited to ‘essential calling’, 48 hours to explore what God wants you to do with your life at St Mark’s College, Audley End on 13th-15th February. This includes teaching, activities and a very good time.
