Discovering nature on walk to school
Pupils at a Church of England school in Forest Gate put their best foot forward for Walk to School week.St James’junior school in Tower Hamlets Road, above, promoted greater awareness of the benefits of walking. They sported green to show their commitment to the environment.
Oluwafunmilayo Abimbda, ten, said: “I like walking to school because it causes less pollution and makes you strong.”
Malaika Mkhosi, seven, said walking to school was “fun and healthy.”
“On the way to school I see trees and flowers, and hear the birds the birds singing,” she added.
