Church live on internet

The Bishop of London and ‘Oxo Mum’ Linda Bellingham were among guests who gathered at the capital’s internet church, St Stephen Walbrook, to launch Christian channel Premier.tv’s initiative to broadcast regular services from the heart of the City of London on the Internet.

Ven Peter Delaney, Archdeacon of London, said: “Our vision is to create a truly virtual church that can be accessed through the internet, 24 hours a day, and will be able to offer sermons, services, prayer and Christian community to all visitors.”

The historic church, designed by Sir Christopher Wren, is the first church in England dedicated to producing virtual services for Christians across the world over the internet.

“St Stephen Walbrook’s internet church is exactly the kind of forward thinking initiativethat will help Christian communities to thrive, both in the capital and online,” said Premier’s chief executive, Peter Kerridge.

Services can be accessed via www.premier.tv
