Sleepover supports Zambians

A GROUP of young people spent the night in Chelmsford cathedral on a 24- hour famine sleepover on February 10 as part of a national campaign organised by World Vision to highlight the needs of people in a project in Keembe, Zambia.

The cathedral's youth minister, Attila Korpos, said: "Choosing to go hungry for one day is easy. And it is worth it. It's our way of helping those who go hungry every day."

Matt Wenham, the 24-hour famine national co-ordinator for the charity, said that over the past 20
years a million UK teenagers had raised £20m for hungry communities.

"We are so happy that the youth group at the cathedral have decided to go hungry for a change. One
day out of their life can make a lifetime's difference to a child in Zambia," he added.
