Church invites Scouts to explore a labyrinth of faith

Scout girl in labyrinthThe Faith Zone at the World Scout Jamboree which is under way in Chelmsford, is helping thousands of scouts from around the world to understand different faiths and how faith can play a part in solving the world’s problems.

Protestant Christianity is represented at the Jamboree by a multi-media labyrinth specially created by All Saints’ Church, Woodford Wells.

The Church is also introducing the Christian faith to the young people through four innovative ‘ID cards’ with references to verses from the Bible:

  • We are designed by God – Psalm 139.14.
  • To reflect God’s glory – 2 Corinthians 3.18.
  • We’ve all made mistakes – Romans 3.23.
  • This much faith – Matthew 17.20. (This ID card contains a mustard seed in reference to Jesus words that with faith - even as small as a grain of mustard seed - nothing will be impossible.)

Church youth worker Jacqui Kean from All Saints has said: “The scouts are engaging with the labyrinth and the ID cards and they are enjoying the experience”.

Each ID card is in four languages: English, French, German and Spanish.
