Angels in realms of glory with Open Door Theatre

THE Open Door Theatre Company of Lawford Church, near Manningtree, Is back in business and flying high - in fact this year they are aiming for heaven!

This very talented group of youngsters are enjoying the preparations for the latest musical written by the 'dynamic duo' Susie Hyman and Pat Prestney, -

'A Company of Angels - the Musical'. Formed in 2001, The Open Door Theatre Company has performed at church venues, at the Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich and at Chelmsford Cathedral, where they have also enhanced the worship at several special occasions.

Between 30 and 50 youngsters aged 8-15 are involved in each performance and more than 200 have been part of the Company over the past seven years, many going on to perform in adult theatre companies.

This year's musical, set in 'The Wing and a Prayer Café', sees a series of people arriving in heaven, many surprised to find themselves there!

Angels of all kinds wait to meet them and to help them on their journey. There is much laughter and not a few tear jerking moments.

Thought provoking at times, this is a musical not to be missed by young or old alike. After all - none of us knows when we may find ourselves amongst a 'Company of Angels' ourselves!

The musical is being performed at Lawford on April 3-5 and at Chelmsford Cathedral on April 19.

Tickets are available by ringing 01206 396107.
