Back to Church Sunday 2008
If every church member invited a friend back to church, the result would be amazing. Every guest is a VIP. And that's the theme of this year's Back to Church Sunday on September 28.
Last year 21 dioceses took part in Back to Church Sunday. This resulted in around 20,000 people responding to invitations from church members. This year 41 dioceses will be taking part in addition to other denominations. Churches throughout the country have found this event very useful to reach people who have slipped away from church, and if personally invited to a service will return.
Churches have incorporated this day as part of an ongoing mission such as a Harvest meal or just simply put on a normal service with an increased sense of welcome.
