Back to Church Sunday

Last year 21 dioceses took part in Back to Church Sunday, which resulted in around 20,000 people responding to invitations from church members. This year 41 dioceses will be taking part in addition to other denominations. Churches throughout the country have found this event very useful to reach the large number of people who have slipped away from church, and if personally invited to a service will return.

Churches have incorporated this day as part of an ongoing mission such as a Harvest meal or just simply put on a normal service with an increased sense of welcome. Back to Church Sunday this year will take place on September 28

At the diocesan office we will have a supply of Fair Trade ‘Welcome' T shirts, ‘VIP' Balloons, and most importantly lots of cards that detach into three sections incorporating a personal invitation, a prayer card and an optional response part for those invited.
