Here are some CMD events that are coming up in the Diocese in 2016
Leadership Seminar with David Odom
Friday 18 November 2016
David’s name may not be known to you but he heads up the Leadership Education work at Duke Divinity School. They offer a first-class range of resources and programmes concerning congregational leadership and ministerial well-being. Their Faith and Leadership website offers some of the best and most interesting on-line material about Christian Leadership.
David is making his first visit to the UK to speak at a national leadership practitioners’ conference and we are fortunate to have him with us in Chelmsford for a day. If you want to find out more about him and read some of his articles, click here.
Dean of Mission and Ministry, Canon Roger Matthews writes: “I had the opportunity to meet Dave last year and hear him teach. He has a remarkable depth of wisdom and experience and so I am delighted he can come to Chelmsford. This really is an opportunity not to be missed.”
The day is open to all licensed ministers. We will be in the Chapter House and more information will be available after the summer. As numbers are limited, you should register now with Sue Denham. There will be a cost of £25 for the day which will include a buffet lunch – this can be taken from your personal CMD grants if you wish.
Reading and study days with the Canon Theologian
All licensed ministers in the Diocese are invited to set aside a day for reading, study, and theological conversation over lunch with Edward Carter. Click here for further details and dates in 2016

Brushing up clergy events
After curacy and first incumbency, there are few opportunities for clergy to brush up on core skills and new knowledge in regard to key areas of ministry. To address this, the CMD team are offering a series of “Brushing up on..” workshops with input from experienced practitioners.
Each workshop is limited to 12 people and offers a review of basics, new developments, and then addresses issues flagged up ahead of time by participants. Workshops last from 10:00-12:30 followed by a sandwich lunch and cost £20, which can be funded from your annual CMD grant.
