their questions and making a response. This module is open to all but would be a good introduction for those considering the ministry of Lay Evangelist

Module Easter 2: Churches Together Today
What is Ecumenism? Has it a better future in 2008? The biblical and historical aspects of ecumenism. The 21st century as the ecumenical century and the new covenants between churches. Sharing what is happening at the grassroots.

Module Easter 3: Leading Small Groups
Encouraging and developing skills in leading small groups and house groups. An emphasis on practical experience through exercises and discussion. Topics will include how adults learn, how groups function; planning your material, ways of studying the Bible together, skills of leading groups and exploring the wide variety of resources available.

Module Easter 4: Called to Care
Everyone is a pastoral carer and can increase their ability to care. The course will look at: What is pastoral care? What qualities are necessary for the practice of pastoral care? Together we will reflect on listening, pastoral prayer and being alongside with God. Open to everyone including those who might be interested in the role of Pastoral Assistant

Module Easter 5: The Big Picture 2
How can Christians respond to controversial art: protest or engagement? How have Christian artists expressed their faith through popular culture? How has Christianity influenced popular culture? How does popular culture portray or critique Christianity? These are some of the questions the course will explore using multi media resources with plenty of opportunity for discussion and practical response.

Module Easter 6: Prayer
This module will be an opportunity to travel a little deeper into our prayer life. We will be learning from ourselves and each other; exploring prayer in art, words and music; considering how we might use or abuse prayer; thinking about differing styles of prayer; and how different styles of prayer suit each of us as individuals. A chance to help our talking and listening with God, and to help others on that journey.

Module Easter 7: Your Shape for God's Service
Do you wish you could discover your gifts? Do you wish you could live more joyful and fruitful Christian life? Do you wish you could serve God more fully? Do you wish you could become the person God has designed you to be? This course will help you to explore your God-given ’’SHAPE’’ and how you can use it in his service by looking at your talents, knowledge and skills, your spiritual gifts and the things that excite you in life including your personal qualities and life experiences.
Please note that participants need the support of their minister to do this course and ministers will be sent a letter and form to sign confirming this is given.

Module Easter 8: Living with Other Faiths
This course helps people explore why we should engage with other faith communities and how we can go about doing so. The course objectives are to identify biblical principles for engaging with other faith communities; to develop an understanding of the beliefs and sensitivity to the practises of other faiths and to consider a range of ways of engaging with other faith communities and to identify particular approaches appropriate to your situation.

These two Saturdays will lexplore how Christians have visited the lands of the Bible on Pilgrimage and will include the history and spirituality of Pilgrimage. Both days will be illustrated with slides.

Module Easter 11: Living with Other Faiths
The course uses Bible studies to explore reasons why we should engage with people of other faiths and ideas on how we can do this. It gives brief desciptions of the beliefs and practises of the main faith communities in the UK. Information on their locations and advice about making initial contact. It includes ideas/case studies for a range of ways in which people can engage with faith communities.

Module Easter 12: The Reformation in England from Local Sources
This will be an opportunity to explore one of the most defining moments in English Church History through local sources and field trips. We will cover Essex before the Reformation, the end of the monastic movement, worship, the Bible, persecution and the legacy of the Reformation today. Essex and East London are a rich resource to draw upon when looking at this subject and it will enable us to discover how our Church today was shaped by the past.
