Fiona is new "Ride & Stride" co-ordinator

FIONA Nelmes is the new county co-ordinator for the Friends of Essex Churches Trust ‘Ride &
Stride' event.

Fiona, a lawyer by profession and mother of three, is on the look out for area organisers to
provide a link between herself and the local church representatives in Barking, Redbridge,
Waltham Forest, Brentwood, Hinckford and Braintree.

The Ride & Stride, which will take place on September 13 this year, raises more than £100,000 a year to help preserve the existing fabric of places of Christian worship in Essex and the five East
London boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Newham, Redbridge and Waltham
Forest.

"I'm looking forward to building on the success of the Ride & Stride events in previous years," said Fiona. "I'm hoping to make 2008 the best one yet. The ‘Ride & Stride' is a fantastic way
for churches to raise money for themselves and for the Friends of Essex Churches Trust to
help them with grants.

"The role of the area and local organisers is key to making the ‘Ride & Stride' an enjoyable and
profitable event."
