Make sure MPs get message
DIOCESAN environmental adviser Wendy Boulton is urging parishes to support Christian Aid's campaign to toughen the Government's Climate Change Bill. With poor communities worldwide already suffering because of climate change,
Christian Aid says it should be made mandatory for companies to declare their full global carbon emissions.
The Government claims that Britain's emissions are only two per cent of the global total, but when the international activities of British companies are taken into account, the figure is closer to 12-15
per cent.
"To make the Bill work for the world's poor, send an email direct to your Member of Parliament and
demand a tougher Climate Change Bill," says Wendy.
"You can use the email service on Christian Aid's website.
"Christian Aid will send a copy of your personal email message to the Prime Minister."
