New Archdeacon of Harlow appointed

Revd Canon Martin WebsterRevd Canon Martin Webster, the Rector of Waltham Abbey, has been appointed Archdeacon of Harlow.

Canon Webster was ordained in 1978 and has served in ministry in the Diocese of Chelmsford throughout.  He will be installed in Chelmsford Cathedral as Archdeacon by the Bishop of Chelmsford on Sunday evening, 26th July.

The Bishop of Chelmsford, in welcoming Martin’s acceptance of this post, said, "I am delighted for Martin, the Archdeaconry of Harlow and the Diocese.  This is very good news for us all."

Canon Martin Webster comments, "As an ‘Essex boy’, I feel very privileged to serve the people and parishes of West Essex as Archdeacon.  I look forward to helping the churches and community life grow and develop in this area."
