Transforming the communities of Essex & East London through Christ’s presence

Angels sang the first protest song, says Bishop

The Bishop of Chelmsford, Stephen Cottrell (@CottrellStephen) has joined other church leaders in spreading the message about the real meaning of Christmas as part of a new Twitter campaign using the hashtag #ChristmasMeans.

From December 23 until Christmas Day congregations and clergy are being encouraged to get out their smartphones to let as many people as possible know the real meaning of Christmas.

Bishop Stephen has talked about how angels sang the first protest song: "It was saying, 'There's a different way of living.'"

Listen to the church leaders' #ChristmasMeans messages in a Church of England podcast released today: https://soundcloud.com/the-church-of-england/sets/christmasmeans-2014 . Bishop Stephen's message is third on the playlist.
