Bishop Stephen pays tribute to the late Bishop John Ball
6th Sep 2016
We are saddened to learn of the death of the Right Reverend John Ball, an Honorary Assistant Bishop in the Diocese of Chelmsford.
Stephen Cottrell, the Bishop of Chelmsford, has said:
John Ball may have been a bishop, but first and foremost he was a man of the gospel. He gave his life in the service of that gospel and this touched and changed many people's lives, especially in Tanzania and through his leadership of Crosslinks.
Here in the diocese of Chelmsford his ministry in retirement has brought many blessings. We will miss him.
Bishop John was a former Assistant Bishop of the Diocese of Central Tanganyika and a former General Secretary of Crosslinks.
An announcement has been made by the Anglican Communion Office.
