'One' way is the theme for Bradwell Pilgrimage

Bradwell Pilgrimage walkersThe Bradwell Pilgrimage is a fantastic opportunity to gather as Christians from across the traditions to walk the path of St Cedd, following in his footsteps and enjoying the fellowship, worship and community which joins us all together in Christ.

This year’s Bradwell Pilgrimage, as always based at St Peter’s on the Wall Chapel, continues with a new format, incorporating community worship in a variety of styles alongside free time to explore various options available around the theme of ‘One - One Hope, One World, One Church’.

Programme: 11am opening service at St Thomas, Bradwell, then a two-ish mile walk to St Peter’s.

A short worship service takes place on arrival around 12.15pm followed by a picnic (bring your own), stalls, youth and children's activities, speakers and space to walk, reflect and explore. Renewal of Baptism vows will take place during this time as well.

A full programme of activities and speakers will be given out at the 11am gathering so you can plan your afternoon as you stroll down to St Peter's Chapel.

The event will close with community singing and closing worship around 3.30pm.

Youth activities (for 11+) will take place over at Othona and include the ‘Bar n Bus’ with playstation and a football cage for the WON tournament as well as parachute games and other events (weather dependent!).

Note that young people are only supervised whilst on board the Bus or at the football cage – parents and carers must ensure they know where their children are at all times.

Lunches are provided as usual at Othona for those who don't wish to bring their own and these should be booked in advance by calling Othona on 01621 776564.

Bradwell ChapelThe Bradwell Pilgrimage is a collaboration of all major denominations through the work of CTEEL (Churches Together in Essex and East London) and the Pilgrimage Committee is pleased to welcome representatives and ministers from the United Reformed Church, Roman Catholic Church, C of E, the Quakers, the Salvation Army and other denominations to take part in all aspects of the Pilgrimage.

Further updated details of the stall holders, displays, seminar speakers and other activities can be found on the dedicated Bradwell Pilgrimage website at www.bradwellpilgrimage.webs.com as well as photos of previous pilgrimages and information on parking, transport sharing and location.

There is also a facility to let the organsiers know if you have any spaces in your car/coach/minibus which you would be willing to share with others.

The pilgrimage has taken a new shape over the last couple of years and it is attracting a wide range of speakers, stall holders and churches and families from across Essex and East London as well as further afield.

Come and join us - whether it's your first time or your 15th time, have a wonderful and unique day out and see this beautiful place where St Cedd brought Christianity to our shores!
