Religious Education

This new Religious Education (RE) syllabus offers support for Voluntary Aided schools in the Diocese of Chelmsford. (Voluntary Controlled Schools are required to follow their Local Agreed Syllabus for RE but may find the diocesan syllabus offers some useful additional material).

These draft materials are published for consultation and we look forward to your hearing your feedback. Having taken your views into account, the syllabus will be finally approved by the Diocesan Board of Education in November 2008 ready for its full implementation from January 2009.

When you click on RE Syllabus, on the side menu, a request will come up for a password. This has been sent to all C of E primary schools in Chelmsford Diocese. If you need further help with this, please contact our Education Team administrators Carol March or Yemi Ibrahim at education@chelmsford.anglican.org

You can currently view the syllabus (background material on RE and church school distinctiveness), and all the schemes of work to support the teaching of Christianity for the Autumn Term.

There is a ‘Feedback' option on the website. Your comments are invaluable and ensure this resource is as user-friendly and supportive as possible, so please have your say!
