Presidential Address

The Bishop of Chelmsford, Rt Revd John Gladwin, gave the Presidential Address.

Chelmsford Diocesan Board of Finance

An extra-ordinary meeting of the CDBF was held, at which the following were approved:

• Diocesan budget for 2008
• Deanery Share of £14,356,868.
• Apportionment of the total Deanery Share to deaneries in accordance with the Deanery Share Scheme, subject to a ceiling of 3% in rises over the average of 3% compared with 2007.

Braintree Deanery Synod Motion

The Revd Charles Mason, on behalf of Braintree Deanery, moved the Motion . Following the debate, a Motion to Pass to Next Business was proposed by Revd Steven Saxby, seconded by Marion Joslin, and carried.

Questions and Answers

A Question and Answer session was held on the work of the Church in the Diocese.

New Adviser for Mission and Parish Development

Synod welcomed the new Adviser for Mission and Parish Development, Revd. Charlie Kosla.
