THE Bishop of Chelmsford, Rt Revd John Gladwin, above, has made a direct appeal to the public to use their vote on June 4.

"There can be no room for complacency," said the Bishop.

"Racist parties have put up candidates. It will be no good complaining if the wrong people get elected if we do not exercise our democratic right and vote. By casting your vote, you can stop racist parties being elected."

Voters go to the polls on June 4 to elect Members of the European Parliament and Essex County Council.
