Chaplain - Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
The Trust is seeking to appoint a compassionate, sensitive, caring, able, committed and enthusiastic Chaplain to join their Chaplaincy Team. This multi-faith team includes both paid and volunteer staff who all work together to meet the spiritual, pastoral and religious needs of patients, staff and visitors.
The successful candidate will work closely with all members of the team to support people of all faiths and beliefs. He or she will have excellent communication skills and demonstrable experience of working in healthcare chaplaincy, and embody the Trust values – “safe caring excellent … together”.
The post is open to ordained ministers in the Anglican Church, the Roman Catholic Church and in member churches of the Free Churches Group of Churches Together in England, and to lay people who can demonstrate appropriate theological training, pastoral experience and accreditation from their own denomination. It is also open to practitioners of other faiths and beliefs eligible for validation by the Healthcare Chaplaincy Faith and Belief Group.
Although this is a Band 6 post suitable applicants who are less experienced may be considered to work at Band 5 with additional training provided. Applications are welcomed from people able to offer full-time working (37.5 hours) or part-time working.
Please see the details of this post, including a Job Description and Person Specification and How to Apply, on the Trust’s website (on the right).
