Transforming the communities of Essex & East London through Christ’s presence

House for Duty Priest - St Martin’s, Plaistow

Location: Newham

St Martin's lies a stone's throw from the site of the old West Ham United ground, in an area that is seeing considerable regeneration. The small-but-friendly congregation seeks a priest who is experienced in leading inclusively and who will;

  • consult widely as we journey together
  • support, encourage and challenge us as we minister to our community
  • motivate us by his/her preaching and pastoral care
  • re-energise the congregation, creative and develop lay leadership
  • be approachable, practical, problem solver and open with us
  • reach out to the local community especially schools and a team player who will work well with neighbouring parishes.

We are a very sociable, welcoming church, inclusive to all and committed to care for each other. Our congregation is very mixed in every sense – nationality, age, culture, ethnicity, sexuality and physical and mental ability and members of the congregation serve, read lessons, lead intercessions and help to distribute the sacrament.

Closing Date: 25 June 2018
