Priest in Charge of the Easters, Rodings and Great Canfield
Location: Rural mid-Essex, NW of Chelmsford
10 village churches, 3 benefices, 1 commitment to serve our communities. Would you welcome a challenge? Do you love rural and village communities? Then we have the job for you!
We are a group of rural parishes set in the very heart of the beautiful mid-Essex countryside, whose churches are committed to following Jesus and serving our communities.
The villages have community at their centre and there are many opportunities for a Parish Priest to be involved in village life, including the primary school which serves all ten villages. With ten beautiful and historic churches you will be spoilt for choice!
Your challenge... will be to help us develop ministry across a newly formed group, who have been working together informally for a number of years, to allow us to continue to be at the centre of the communities we serve.
Our challenge... is to recognise you cannot be everywhere at once and to ensure you have the support you need and a good work/life balance.
‘We realise that being a group of ten is a big task and we stand ready to work with you to make this work, to strengthen our faith and to share the good news with our communities. Since January 2018 we have been working with the Area Mission and Ministry Advisor to consider future structures and what sharing a Parish Priest means for us; we are confident significant progress will have been made before a minister is appointed.’
We are looking for someone whose life and ministry is rooted in the Bible and who has the gifts of strategic leadership. We would like you to;
- Give us strong spiritual leadership and offer engaging and relevant Bible teaching.
- Be able to communicate the joy and love of Jesus with all ages.
- Help us develop our shared ministry and gifts.
- Help us develop and enhance the pastoral care and support.
- Help us come up with an effective plan for the future of our church buildings.
Could this be you?
We look forward to meeting you, and to sharing with you all that we love about our villages.
Interviews will be held on Monday 21st May 2018
