Equipping Training
equipping is aimed at all those working with young people (aged 11+ primarily) in the local community, in churches, detached settings and everywhere else! Whether you have been doing youth ministry for 10 years, 10 days or 10 minutes, this course is for you!!
The course is designed for those who have no training as well as those who have extensive experience - aiding self reflection, connections with others and a chance to consider next steps.
From 2010, the course will run over a Calendar Year, covering 4 Modules - Starting; Understanding; Relating and Empowering.
Sessions will be delivered in March, June, September and November in each Area of the Diocese. Covering all aspects of youthwork such as Aims and Values, Youth Culture, Dealing with Difficult Behaviour, Programme Planning, Child Protection and Risk Assessment, Young People's Spirituality, Empowering Young Leaders...and much more.
The course is delivered by one or more of the Area Youth Advisers alongside other special trainers for particular areas of expertise.
Dates, venue info and other arrangements are found here or send for a flyer available from Alice Smith
You can take the whole course or dip into particular sessions that interest you. Completion of all 4 modules and a portfolio leads to a Bishop's Certificate in Youth Ministry. Further training and experience can lead to an Archbishop's Certificate which is transferable throughout other Dioceses. The course will be run in three venues, accessible to all Areas of the Diocese.
