Alice works across the South East Essex bit of the Diocese, covering Chelmsford, Southend, the Dengie Peninsula, Basildon, Thurrock and Brentwood and everywhere in between!

Alice has been in post since April 06 and has been involved in setting up new youth groups, consulting with churches about developing their youth work, organising worship and training events and getting to know lots of new people. She has also managed to have a baby in that time, Matilda Grace who was born in December 06.

Alice plans and runs a termly Area youth worship event called Lifted which is hosted by different churches and youth groups. Contact her for further details.

Alice lives in Maldon with her husband Andy and Matilda. Alice's favourite things include: tea (milk no sugar), CSI, her purple Fiesta (Fenella), seeing young people living life in Christ, Counting Crows, cooking, reading, Church, singing, sleeping (not as much now!) talking and meeting new people.

Youth Adviser for Barking Episcopal Area

Andy works in the London chunk of the Diocese, covering the 5 boroughs of Havering, Barking and Dagenham, Redbridge, Newham and Waltham Forest as well as Ongar, Harlow and Epping Forest.  

Andy is married to Linsey and has twin children. Andy is a huge music fan and has ventured to the Glastonbury festival a couple of times. He also had a coffee habit of distinction - double Americano with an extra shot please! In Summer 2008, Andy will be undertaking a marathon bike ride in Northern Ireland for his 40th birthday - ask him about it when you next see him!

Born and bred in God’s own town of Romford, prior to this current role Andy served as Youth Minister for ten years at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Collier Row.  In addition to youth advising he is currently training for Ordination as a Pioneer Minister. Andy has a heart for creating new forms of church amongst those currently beyond the reaches of the Church - at the moment he's involved in a new ministry for Young Adults in the Barking Area.

Andy is on the Executive of SOLID, the Diocesan Youth Festival in partnership with Viz a Viz and Scripture Union and also heads up Kairos Community, gathering and supporting youth workers in the Barking Area and beyond - see Events for more details.

Congratulations to Andy who was ordained Deacon in Chelmsford Cathedral on June 29th! He will be continuing in his role as Barking Area Youth Adviser and serving as NSM Curate at St John's Havering atte Bower, setting up fresh expressions of church amongst young adults!! Bless ya!
