Invitation to Grief and Loss Training Course
Tragically, grief and loss is an experience that no leader of any school, youth work is ever exempt from. It is vital that we are trained and equipped to respond and care in these difficult circumstances.
We are therefore pleased to invite you to a bespoke training day led by Jill Rowe (Oasis Ethos & Formation Director) and Paul Woodman (Oasis Chaplain and Hub Leader), both of whom have a broad base of experience in this area and have worked alongside many of the Oasis Academies and wider Oasis Hubs supporting Senior Staff and young people and the local community as they have gone through tragic events.
The content of the day includes learning how to practically lead a pastoral response within your context to a loss.
Participants will also be provided with a suite of resources that are available to help when facing such sudden crisis. We will also consider how we hold and work through our own responses to loss when we are leading others through theirs.
Significantly, the day will train people in how to run a course of four interactive, educational and supportive sessions that are designed to support young people affected by a significant loss experience (death of a close person, parental separation).
