The Church of St John the Baptist, in Little Maplestead, also known as the Round Church, will be ablaze with colour as it welcomes visitors to this year’s Flower Festival. The Vicar, the Revd Gay Ellis, said “this year is really special as not only do we have the Flower Festival but it is part of British Food Fortnight, and we have teamed up with both the Essex Ploughing Match and the Harvest Festival in Chelmsford Cathedral to promote local food and farming”.
The flower festival will start at 10am on both Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th.
The Essex Ploughing match takes place on the Saturday only at nearby Maplestead Hall
The Flower Festival has over 20 large flower arrangements each representing local produce
Little Maplestead church thanks the many local businesses that have supported the festival as sponsors
Stalls selling local produce will be present both days, as well as refreshments,
