Bradwell Pilgrimage has been running for nearly 100 years and gathers people from across Essex (and beyond) for a day of pilgrimage, worship and activities for all the Family at the historic St Peter’s Chapel in Bradwell-on-Sea.
The 2019 Bradwell Pilgrimage and Gathering will take place on Saturday 6th July and will run from 10:30am until 3:45pm.
Come and join us for a chance to experience the place where St Cedd sailed down from Lindisfarne to minister to the East Saxons 1365 years ago.
Day Programme – FREE Event – All denominations, faiths or none all welcome.
10:45am – Commissioning of the pilgrims outside St Thomas’ Church (with the Bishop of Brentwood and the Bishop of Bradwell) 11:00 –Walk to Bradwell Chapel On arrival at the field we will have opening worship in the chapel field with a guest speaker Lunchbreak – Bring a picnic or grab some food on site 1:45 – A series of optional sessions to choose from • Communion in the Chapel • A talk on the history of the chapel • Messy Church Activities for the children • Guided walk and wildlife talk for all • Forest Schools Session for children and families 3:00 – Closing worship in the chapel field 3:45 – Finish Teas, coffee, cold drinks and cakes will be available in the marquee, an ice cream van will be on site.
Lunches can be obtained at the Othona community a short walk away.
Toilets on site.
Free lifts are available vis a minibus all day.
