Parents, we think you are amazing. We know how hard it is to do all the things that are vying for your attention during the day. You are doing such a great job. If your children are loved and cared for, everything else is gravy!
We know that as schools closed again for most families, and parents have been expected to help their children to access their schoolwork online and to complete a range of subject activities each day, many parents are feeling anxious about their role. In Chelmsford Diocese we want to recognise that schools have been amazing throughout the pandemic, pivoting often at short notice to support their pupils.
The following links are designed not to give you more to do, but to support your children’s learning by giving them access to a wide range of different approaches and activities. Some are national initiatives and others more local. We would suggest that you have a look at some of them, and choose one or two that you feel will work for you and your family set up. It would be wise to choose activities that complement the work your school has been setting. And, don’t forget to allow your child to engage with their passions – whether that is history, art, science etc and really enjoy their own exploring.
But the most important thing we would recommend is that you make sure you have supportive people you can reach out to if you need to talk or ask for help.
Our team is here if you need help.
We are praying for you and your children, that you will have grace and patience and that you will know God’s love surrounding you and your family.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7
