Local schools gather for a singing outreach day at Chelmsford Cathedral

On Tuesday 16 June, more than 100 primary school children, representing three local schools, gathered at Chelmsford Cathedral for a singing outreach day.

After warming up their voices with various singing games, they studied Bible readings and learnt songs focusing on the theme of animals in the Bible: God creating the animals, fish and birds in Genesis, Noah taking every kind of animal onto the ark, the parable of the lost sheep and Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey.

The songs included “From the Tiny Ant” and “Who Built the Ark”. The children also learned about how the organ works and tried on choir robes.

The day ended with an act of worship, attended by parents.
