We have had to navigate our way through lockdown, finding new and effective ways of journeying alongside others and of forming churches.
Late 2019 we commenced a second Mission Shaped Ministry course that continued into early 2020.
This MSM course has been able to integrate members of the deaf community, folk who have the mission of God on their hearts.
Early lockdown measures stalled everything. We were aware that virtual online communication was a real issue for the deaf, so the decision was unanimously taken to postpone the remainder of MSM until we could officially relaunch face to face. This thankfully began on September 10th.
Here are some comments from current participants on the MSM Course:
Helpful, considered tools and methods that help people recognise and join in with God’s mission
MSM draws people from all different church traditions but who all care passionately about putting Jesus’ mission at the heart of their lives. The group is therefore wonderfully diverse but with a tremendous sense of unity
I learned that church and Christian worship does not only mean going to a church, but can happen anywhere and can develop naturally
A place where everyone can come as one body regardless of denomination
I have found the group to be really supportive, inclusive and the course a huge learning opportunity. MSM has given me the tools and knowledge to go about mission in the right way and that there is nothing wrong in starting small
Opportunity to hear what God is doing in other places and consider what He might be doing in your context
