Bishop’s Christmas story will feature at Imaginative book launch

25th Oct 2018

What is the place of imagination and story in the communication of the Christian faith?

Stephen Cottrell, the Bishop of Chelmsford, will reflect on this question at a book launch next month. He will also speak about his latest books, a Christmas story for children, and a book of poems and stories:

The Sleepy Shepherd – A timeless retelling of the Christmas story

Striking Out – Poems and stories from the Camino, a spiritual diary of his 700-kilometre pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostella.

The book launch takes place at Chelmsford Cathedral on Tuesday 27 November 2018, from 7.00 pm - 8.00 pm, with wine and canapés from 6.30 pm. All are welcome. To reserve your place email bishopscourt@chelmsford.anglican.org.

The Sleepy Shepherd (published by SPCK) and Striking Out (published by Canterbury Press) are available from the Chelmsford Christian Bookshop, email bookshop@chelmsford.anglican.org, tel 01245 294405.

Besides his numerous books, Stephen Cottrell was a key author of Emmaus and Pilgrim, the Church of England's courses in Christian formation and discipleship.
