Bishop’s Next Chaplain Appointed

6th May 2018

Revd Mark Blakely has been appointed as the next Chaplain to the Bishop of Chelmsford from September.
Stephen Cottrell, the Bishop of Chelmsford, has said:

"I’m delighted that Mark has agreed to be my new Chaplain. His experience in Law prior to Ordination and the pastoral wisdom he has learned and honed in Becontree will serve me well and serve the diocese too. I look forward to all that God will do through Mark in this new ministry."

Since October 2016 Mark Blakely (pictured) has been leading the parish of Becontree South where he is Curate. He will succeed Revd Matt Simpkins who has been appointed Priest-in-Charge of Lexden St Leonard in September 2018.
