Fifteen youth ministers commissioned

Fifteen youth ministers have been commissioned at a celebration attended by 400 people at Chelmsford Cathedral.

17 parish evangelists in Newham have also been commissioned, together with 11 pastoral assistants and four evangelism enablers. Two Readers have been welcomed from other dioceses.

The theologian, Dr Jane Williams said that God calls all His people to ministry. The ordained ministers are there to help the others.

Nicholas Henshall, the Dean of Chelmsford who preached the sermon at the celebration on October 11, 2014 explained that ministry is always “from the church, for the world”.
