Five centenarians take tea with the Bishop

14th Jul 2014

Five centenarians came to tea with Stephen Cottrell, the Bishop of Chelmsford.

The tea party marked a double birthday celebration, because the Diocese of Chelmsford is also 100 years old this year.

Bishop Stephen told the centenarians: "God never sees crowds, only individuals. And a thousand years in God's sight are like a watch in the night. Whether we are old or young, we are all children to God."

The Bishop hosted the tea party at his home in Margaretting.

Pictures of the celebration can be viewed on our Flickr pages. You are welcome to publish any of those images as long as you credit
