Life Skills Courses at Lifestreams Saint Cedd’s
20th Jun 2021
Lifestreams Saint Cedd’s Church in Westcliff-on-Sea are set to offer a new series of Life Skills Courses for the local community, starting in September.
The cost of the eight week course has been covered thanks to donations and funding from Southend Airport.
The CAP (Christians Against Poverty) Life Skills course is an eight-week course, which equips people with skills and useful information. Topics include: how to eat well on a budget and how to make money go further.
Glyn Jones, CEO of London Southend Airport, said:
“The work by Saint Cedd’s brings vulnerable people together within our community to equip them with the tools to manage real life scenarios. Offering these courses free of change is possible
by donations and Southend Airport is proud to support this valuable cause.”
The church launched the Life Skills courses last year, but the course was interrupted due to lockdown restrictions. Upon completion of the course, it is hoped that candidates will then continue to meet at the Church’s weekly ‘Oasis at LifeStreams’ sessions for ongoing support.
Revd Colin Baldwin, Priest-in-Charge, Lifestreams Saint Cedd’s, said:
“The church is here to support local people. Life skills is a simple, but effective way to boost confidence, learn basic skills in a relaxed and safe environment where people make lasting, supportive friendships.
We are very grateful for help with funding for this valuable course that enables us to proceed with the next series of sessions.”
