Transforming the communities of Essex & East London through Christ’s presence

New Bishop of Bradwell will deliver keynote address at Bradwell Gathering

2nd Jul 2018

The newly consecrated Bishop of Bradwell, Dr John Perumbalath, will be the main speaker at the Bradwell Gathering on Saturday 7 July following his consecration as Bishop of Bradwell.

“I am really looking forward to meeting many people from far and wide at this great annual event at Bradwell-on-Sea, the place which is the origin of the name of Bradwell in my new title,” said soon-to-be Bishop John.

"The patron saint of Essex, St Cedd, who built historic St Peter’s Chapel at Bradwell-on-Sea in the 7th century AD, was our first great missionary disciple. In my keynote address I will be asking the question, ‘What does missionary discipleship look like today?’”

The day begins at St Thomas’ Church at 10.30 am for a short service after which pilgrims will make the two-mile journey to the ancient chapel of St Peter-on-the-Wall.
