Transforming the communities of Essex & East London through Christ’s presence

New Schools Adviser announced

13th Jun 2016

Heather Tetchner has been appointed as Schools Adviser for the Diocesan Board of Education from 1 Sept 2016.

Heather joins the team with 27 years experience as a headteacher in Essex schools and will be stepping down in the summer from nine years leading Dedham Church of England Primary school, which she has led over to achieving ‘Outstanding’ designations by both OfSTED and SIAMS (church school inspection).

Heather is designated by the DfE as a National Leader of Education and for the last three years she has also been Chief Executive Officer of the Diocese Vine Schools Trust.

A keen supporter too of our Kenya Schools Link, visiting Kenya twice and is currently an adviser to the ASPIRE programme supporting leadership in schools across North East Essex.

Revd Tim Elbourne Director of Education commented

"I am delighted Heather is joining our team in September. As well as her exceptional skills and experience, she embodies the very best spirit of church school commitment. Our schools will value greatly her wisdom and encouragement."

Heather will be working part-time in the Education Team. Her appointment arises as a result of the retirement in the summer of Lyn Hillier from a similar role.
