No surprises in attendance figures as plans for discipleship are firmed up

Responding to the reported decline in weekly church attendance Stephen Cottrell, the Bishop of Chelmsford has commented:

“We are still as resolute as ever in our commitment to live out our faith, share our faith, enjoy our service to God and grow our ministry.”

The Church is realistic about the time it will take to reverse the decline and is not putting its trust in quick fixes but is re-focusing its work of prayer, evangelism, discipleship, vocations and training and is learning from churches where there is growth.
