Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving for Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

People from across Chelmsford Diocese have joined civic leaders from Essex and Chelmsford at a Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving for Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

In her sermon, the Bishop of Chelmsford, the Rt Revd Dr Guli Francis-Dehqani reflected on Her Late Majesty's life by addressing three themes: anointing, questions and loyalty.

The service at Chelmsford Cathedral was one of many taking place across the Diocese as people gathered to give thanks for the life of Her Late Majesty.

In his sermon at St Peter's Colchester, the Bishop of Colchester, the Rt Revd Roger Morris reflected on King Charles' tribute to Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth during which he quoted Shakespeare's Hamlet, saying "May 'flights of Angels sing thee to thy rest'.".
