Support our Lent Appeal for drought stricken Kenya!
19th Mar 2018
Stephen Cottrell, the Bishop of Chelmsford, has shared his reflections on his recent visit to partner dioceses in Kenya with the Chelmsford Diocesan Synod.
There were uncomfortable contrasts with England in generosity, need and gratitude, the Bishop said. Exploring the implications for Parish Share, he encouraged preaching and teaching on generosity and gratitude:
We must pay for the ministry in our churches and then we must give for the new ministry and new mission in our diocese and for the needs of God’s world, especially in our partner dioceses where God has called us into close association."
Support our Lent Appeal!
Our Lent Appeal hopes to raise £60,000 to buy a water bowser for the drought stricken Diocese of Marsabit, one of our partner dioceses in Kenya.
“If you haven't already done so, could you publicise this appeal and encourage people to support it generously?” urged the Bishop.
The Bishop was addressing the Diocesan Synod on 17 March 2018.
How to give to the Lent Appeal. Thank you very much for your support.
