Thy Kingdom Come 2019: Light up the world with prayer
23rd May 2019
Between Ascension and Pentecost we are all invited to set aside time to pray for people to come to know Jesus Christ.
Everyone is invited to join in and light up the world with prayer from the 30 May – 9 June.
What started out as an invitation from the Archbishops’ of Canterbury and York in 2016 to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer.
You can join in Thy Kingdom Come by making a Pledge 2 Pray on the Thy Kingdom Come website. You can make a pledge as an individual, as a family or pledge to hold an event in your church.
Churches will be holding prayer events, such as 24-7 prayer, prayer stations and prayer walks, across the Essex and East London – as will churches in the rest of the UK and other parts of the world.
The hope is people will be transformed through prayer by the Holy Spirit, finding new confidence to be witnesses for Jesus Christ.
In praying ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ we all commit to playing our part in the renewal of the nations and the transformation of communities.”
- Archbishop Justin Welby
