e-Learning (online) safeguarding courses

The safeguarding learning courses support participants in developing and maintaining the necessary values, beliefs, knowledge, and skills to safeguard and protect children, young people, and vulnerable adults.

The Church of England safeguarding e-Learning (online) courses:

  • Basic Awareness (previously C0)
  • Foundation (previously C1)
  • Safer Recruitment and People Management (previously S1 Safer Recruitment)
  • Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse (previously S3 Responding to Domestic Abuse)

are available via The Church of England National Safeguarding Team’s online Learning Portal (website).

These are not virtual courses (e.g. Zoom) so you do not need to book a ticket and you do not need a device with a camera or microphone. You simply log-on when it’s convenient for you, read/listen to the text and videos and then select the answers to multiple choice questions.

Support

If you require support or assistance with the Church of England  Safeguarding e-Learning courses, you will need to contact The Church of England National Safeguarding Team directly by emailing  elearning@mail.safeguardingtraining.cofeportal.org

Please Note: On The Church of England National Safeguarding Team’s online Learning Portal (website), we, the DST, can only see e-Learning completion dates for those individuals that have entered ‘CHELMSFORD’ as their Diocese on their e-Learning profile.

If an individual entered a different Diocese (or no Diocese at all) when they created their e-Learning profile on the Church of England National Safeguarding Team’s online Learning Portal (website), there are a few options:

  1. An individual can download/print their Church of England e-Learning certificate(s) by logging into the Church of England National Safeguarding Team’s online Learning Portal (website https://safeguardingtraining.cofeportal.org/), hovering over or clicking on ‘Records’,  clicking on ‘My Training Record’, clicking on ‘Go to your certificates’ and then download any valid certificates. The individual can then provide you/us with their certificate(s).
  2. An individual can change/add their current Diocese on their e-Learning profile so that we, the DST, will be able to view the individuals e-Learning training record and they will also show up on our e-Learning reports. They can do this either by:
  • logging in to the Church of England National Safeguarding Team’s online Learning Portal (website https://safeguardingtraining.cofeportal.org/), clicking on ‘My Training Record’, clicking on ‘Edit my profile’ and then entering ‘CHELMSFORD’ under the section called ‘My Organisation Details’, OR
  • contacting The Church of England National Safeguarding Team directly by emailing elearning@mail.safeguardingtraining.cofeportal.org and asking them to change/add their current Diocese to ‘CHELMSFORD’ on their profile on their behalf.

An individual’s Leadership/C2 course is NOT recorded on the Church of England National Safeguarding Team’s online Learning Portal (website) because it is NOT an e-Learning course. It is presented live by the Diocese either virtually (via Zoom) or face-to-face. If an individual cannot find their Leadership/C2 certificate they will need to contact the Diocese that trained them for confirmation.
