Churchwardens

Churchwardens are officers of the Bishop and trustees of a charity, usually acting as a pair, elected by the parishioners annually, to encourage the congregation, be spiritual leaders among the laity, and cooperate with the incumbent.

Churchwardens are vital to the health and wellbeing of our church communities.

Churchwardens are representatives of the laity, supporters of the clergy, officers of the bishop, trustees of a charity, and leaders in mission and ministry, with a special role in leading worship and in vacancies.
