Email

Email is a great way to stay connected with people in your community.

Email is a great way to stay connected with people in your community. It is low cost, easy to use and more personal than other forms of digital communication.

Sending a good email newsletter will keep the readers informed and build trust between church leaders and the community.

If you want to send to large groups of people, using an online mass emailing platform to mange your mailing lists would be beneficial.

MailChimp

MailChimp is an email marketing tool that allows you to send mass emails to subscribers. It is a great tool to get started with managing email lists.

You can design great looking emails and then send them out using the MailChimp system, rather than through your own email provider.

So if you’re looking to send out regular email communications to people in your church, want them to look great and allow people to manage their own email preferences online, Mailchimp is a very useful platform.

There are other mass emailing platforms you can use as an alternative to mailchimp. Some are listed on the link below:

The following blog posts offer more information on using email as a communications tool, email newsletters and Mailchimp:

GDPR

It is important that your church follows General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) when handling peoples’ personal data. Advice on GDPR for parishes can be found on our 'GDPR and parish communications' webpage, which is linked to below, and the Parish Resources website.
