Anglican Chaplain for Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford Campus

The City of Chelmsford is home to Anglia Ruskin University. The Diocese of Chelmsford and the University are keen to see an ongoing relationship through the appointment of a full-time Anglican priest to serve as Chaplain, leading the Chaplaincy Team on the Chelmsford Campus.

The purpose of this role is to develop chaplaincy provision across the University's campuses, working with the Chaplaincy Council in so doing; lead the Chaplaincy Team on the Chelmsford Campus; making an agreed contribution to the life of the Diocese of Chelmsford, Chelmsford Cathedral and the wider community.

The University Chaplain will be a Minor Canon of Chelmsford Cathedral. The Cathedral role and the traditional title "Minor Canon" brings together the Cathedral and the University in the person of the post holder for their work in the public square.

provide pastoral care to staff and students (working with other staff in our university in doing so)

and be happy to be

identifiable as a priest and be a proactive, energetic, visible and approachable Christian presence, accessible to all.
