Children’s and Youth Minister (Maternity Cover)

Full Time - 40 hrs a week

Salary £21,816

Meadgate Church is seeking to appoint a Childrens and Youth Minister on an interim 12 month contract (potentially longer). Meadgate church has its origins deeply rooted in Children’s and Youth having started as a Sunday School for the children of Meadgate estate in the 1960’s and we continue in our commitment to young people. The focus of this role is to ensure the flourishing of our Children’s and Youth ministry during maternity leave. The role involves overseeing and implementing our midweek and Sunday programme and a handover pack is provided of weekly and monthly tasks to ensure a smooth transition. Children’s and Youth Ministry is integrated in the life of the church and there is an expectation that the role will involve devising, planning and implementing Sunday morning worship for the whole church on a regular basis in partnership with other members of the volunteer and staff team. Work in local schools involves assemblies at our Primary School and Lunch Clubs at the High School on behalf of ‘Made for More’ the schools ministry charity in Chelmsford.

An expenses paid mission trip to Romania in June 2020 to run a children’s holiday club is also a required part of the post holders duties.

  • A committed Christian with a desire to share the Gospel with young people
  • A creative thinker
  • Experienced in youth and or children’s work in a church setting
  • Self motivated and able to work effectively in a team.
  • Part of the Ministry Leadership Team of Meadgate Church
