Rector of the Blackwater Benefice

A team of seven rural parishes is looking for a new Rector with a passion for rural, multi-parish ministry who can lead this benefice with flexibility, sensitivity and imagination. The parishes are located along the beautiful Blackwater estuary. This is no sleepy backwater but a place of innovation and reimagination, of inspiration and invention.   

The Benefice is looking for someone who:  

  • Will invigorate growth across our Benefice, spiritually and numerically and especially amongst families and young people 
  • Is an innovative, collaborative and servant-hearted leader ready to join in with our ministries, valuing the gifts, energy and experience that we bring 
  • Understands multi-parish ministry and can deepen the links across the team while respecting the individuality of each church and community 
  • Will identify and nurture vocations, lay and ordained  

We have a strong team of ordained (SSM) clergy, LLMs, ALPs and Churchwardens as well as active and engaged PCCs, a Parish Nurse and a Benefice Administrator, ready to offer support, friendship and care.
