Safeguarding Trainer

Location: Chelmsford or home based

If you’re looking for a fantastic safeguarding opportunity in Essex, look no further than the Diocese of Chelmsford.

We’re seeking an experienced professional to deliver training to a wide audience across the Church of England in Essex and East London. As a key member of the safeguarding team, you’ll co-facilitate effective classroom-based safeguarding training packages to all Church officers who work with children, young people and adults at risk.

As well as regularly reviewing and improving these packages, you’ll work with stakeholders, including clergy and volunteers across the Diocese to effectively deliver training. This crucial role will equip parishes with the knowledge and confidence to manage safeguarding situations.

About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be highly organised, able to work to deadlines and be resilient in a challenging environment. You’ll ensure the highest quality training is delivered to all relevant Church officers. Not only will you have at least 2 years’ experience in delivering training packages, but you’ll show a commitment to safeguarding children and adults at risk, while understanding the ethos and mission of the Church of England and the Diocese.

Hours: 9.5 – 13.5 hours per week (500 – 700 hours or 70 to 100 working days per year. Consideration will be given to hours worked following a term time working pattern)

Salary: £23,000 to £25,000 p.a. pro rata, subject to experience, skills and qualifications
