St Mary’s, Widford, celebrated Harvest with seasonal displays and donations for local charities

St Mary's, Widford, marked Harvest with seasonal displays throughout the church. The church provided an opportunity for donations to a local food bank and CHESS, a homelessness charity in Chelmsford that works to ensure people experiencing homelessness are supported.

The Revd Stephanie Gillingham, Rector of Widford Parish and Priest-in-Charge at St Mary's, Widford, reflects on the Harvest service:

"Widford Parish celebrated Harvest this year by collecting for the Foodbank and CHESS. People gave enthusiastically because we are thankful to God for his many blessings to us. We also thought about how we can be generous and the importance of sharing our faith because we are Kingdom People who want everyone to share in the joy of being a Christian. We celebrate the Lord of the Harvest."
